Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Lawrence County Criminal History does not keep a separate log of the terms entered there.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained as long as needed to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine server logs collect certain technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Device and operating-system type
- Visited pages and approximate time spent
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved by a browser. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block cookies, although disabling them may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Operating the site and maintaining page speed
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Understanding which content is useful or needs revision
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Lawrence County Criminal History does not compile, store, or sell a database of individual criminal records. Its content identifies official custodians, including Lawrence County courts and police agencies, the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, and the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Website. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a record about another person, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through one of those tools is governed by that company's privacy policy and retention practices. Review those terms before sending a query because this policy does not control a partner's processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Lawrence County offices, Pennsylvania courts and agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Check them before sharing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. Their tracking is not operated by Lawrence County Criminal History.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a visitor's chosen query
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- A government body when disclosure is compelled by a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet-connected system can guarantee perfect security, so protection against every breach or unauthorized access cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified report of a minor's submitted data will be addressed by deleting it.
Your Data Rights
Pennsylvania's Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, 73 P.S. §§ 201-1 through 201-9.3, may apply to certain consumer practices. Subject to applicable law and identity verification, a visitor may:
- Request deletion of personal information
- Ask what personal data is retained
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out where a particular type of processing permits it
